The Article
1. What’s the biggest shift you’ve seen in corporate / executive events—what’s out, and what’s in?
Planning executive events has always been about maximising efficiency, but now it’s all about striking the perfect balance. When juggling global calendars, choosing locations near major airports and dodging important cultural dates have always been key. But today, it’s not just about logistics—it's about weaving in authentic, location-based experiences that align with company values. We’re diving deep into company goals to curate itineraries that reflect those values. Take Ellidore’s recent Rome event, for example. One standout moment? A surprise private visit to the Sistine Chapel. It was a breathtaking, one-of-a-kind experience that left the group in awe of the world’s masterpiece frescoes.
2. How do you design an event that people talk about for years, not just days?
While flawless planning is crucial, it’s the unexpected creative touches that truly leave a lasting impression. Clients often tell us their favourite moments were the ones where we surprised them with a little extra flair, perfectly timed. For a recent Ellidore event in Paris, we privatised the MOM, but with a twist. The stairs leading up to the venue were a popular skateboarding spot, so instead of blocking the space with security, we got clever. We handed out branded t-shirts and caps to the skaters, turning the whole scene into a live, interactive brand experience. Guests were greeted by boarders pulling off slick tricks as they arrived—talk about making an entrance.
3. If you had to scrap traditional venues altogether, where would you take people for a next-level experience?
We have built many bespoke venues for our clients across the years. This works really well, particularly when events are sensitive. Being able to construct the dream space, tailored to requirements is a great way to impress. We have built secure camps in deserts, new worlds on private islands, or immersive gaming spaces in tropical countries.

Where community meets creativity, unforgettable events are born.
4. What’s the secret ingredient to making an event feel effortless yet extraordinary?
Every moment in an itinerary should pack a punch where nothing goes to waste, not even guest transfers. Sometimes, guests spend more time in cars than we’d like, but we turn that 'dead' time into an experience booster. Think personalised playlists, curated messages from handpicked experts, or even mindful exercises to make the journey feel purposeful. We go beyond the basics with tailored welcome packages, curated content, and interactive sessions that make guests feel truly seen and valued. When people feel cared for, those positive vibes stick long after the event ends.
5. How are events tapping into human psychology—emotion, challenge, and even transformation?
Events often use narrative techniques to engage audiences emotionally. Whether it’s through expert speakers, brand experiences, or interactive performances; the use of storytelling allows attendees to connect with a theme, product, or cause on an emotional level. A compelling story can evoke a strong connection: based in empathy or excitement. Often these splash back feelings stick long after the event is over. Challenge is a powerful motivator. Our Executive Events often incorporate psychological principles around achievement, risk, and overcoming adversity to push attendees out of their comfort zones.
6. What’s a common mistake even high-end events make, and how do you avoid it?
Going slightly adrift of what we've just said - don't over-think it. It is the simple stuff that makes all the difference.
7. What are the essential components to delivering an engaging executive event, even at large-scale? Team. Ellidore has a fleet of absolute rock stars who work incredibly hard to ensure every moment planned in the months leading up to an event, goes off perfectly. Once the job is done, everyone can have a laugh about the tough stuff - we are very lucky.
8. What’s next for executive events—what’s the next frontier that no one’s fully explored yet?
Events will continue to take place in some of the world’s most remote and luxurious locations e.g. private islands, secluded mountain resorts, or historic landmarks - that only a select few have access to. Picture an ultra-elite members' club, where the focus is not just on networking but on building a legacy that transcends generations. These locations will not just serve as stunning backdrops but will enhance the overall experience, creating an atmosphere of exclusivity that encourages high-level conversations and deep personal connections. We don’t see a future in planning your typical Executive retreat. The future is planning a curated gathering of individuals who share a common drive to leave an indelible mark on the world, whether through business, philanthropy, or culture.
