The Article

Mount Street serves breakfast with poise in the heart of Mayfair – refined, understated, and flawlessly executed.

Set on the corner of Carlos Place, Mount St. Restaurant is where art, heritage, and culinary finesse converge. Opened in 2022 by Artfarm (the team behind some of the most beautifully curated hospitality properties worldwide), this all-day dining destination brings a fresh elegance to the Mayfair scene. Seating just over 70 guests, the restaurant balances intimacy with grandeur. The dining area features the captivating Broken Floor, a palladiana mosaic by Rashid Johnson, and is furnished with Matthew Day Jackson's uniquely designed Kolho chairs. The walls are adorned with an impressive collection of artworks by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Lucian Freud, and Henri Matisse, creating an atmosphere of understated sophistication. Open seven days a week, it’s a place that moves at its own unhurried rhythm – polished, discreet, and effortlessly stylish.

Breakfast at Mount St.? A quiet triumph, if you ask me.

Our table began with the Mayfair Toast, which arrived like a work of art. A thick slice of warm brioche cradled caramelised banana and soft vanilla cream – a dish that’s indulgent yet perfectly composed. The Omelette Arnold Bennett followed: airy and golden, filled with delicately smoked haddock and crowned with a crisp gratin. A jewel-toned fruit salad provided freshness, while a side of expertly crisped bacon added the right touch of savoury indulgence. All of this was brought together by a perfectly bitter coffee (or three!) – rich, full-bodied, and confidently served. Every element was considered, and nothing was overdone.

A destination for those who appreciate detail, discretion, and good taste. Mount Street doesn’t shout – it doesn’t need to.

Beyond the dining room lies Mount Street’s best-kept secret – its private rooms.

Each one offers a distinct experience, tailored for everything from intimate breakfasts to high-level corporate entertaining and full venue takeovers. The Scottish Room was a personal highlight: inspired by the famed Fife Arms, it features a show-stopping antler chandelier, rich custom tartans in moody tones, and wood-panelled walls that cocoon you in warmth. It’s evocative and atmospheric – one of the most original rooms in London. The Games Room strikes a more playful tone – ideal for relaxed yet refined entertaining. Whether you're hosting a private celebration or a business meeting, it offers exclusivity without compromising on style.

Mount Street delivers a rare harmony of thoughtful service, exceptional food, and relaxed elegance.

The atmosphere is calm and assured. Service is smooth, never showy. And the food? Elegant without being fussy – you’re eating something exquisite, but you still feel entirely at ease, which is a difficult balance to achieve. There’s a quiet confidence to everything here that makes you want to linger just a little longer.
